A little added prayer needed

Well, it's official...  I heard late this evening that I've been laid off from my current employer. The official word is that my position no longer exists even though I have a return to work release from my Doctor.  We sure could use a little added prayer from all of you regarding this matter. Specifically for God to open the right doors for us and to lead me to the perfect job and also for us to navigate through the Cobra insurance system over the next few days to keep my health insurance going.

Thanks again for all your prayers!  Russ and Robyn

Hey Russ,
Just was reading a book this very morning by Chuck Colson on the inate drive within a man to be engaged in meaningful work. Tracy and I will be in prayer that Jesus can work through this setback and bring you to a job that is infinitely better than the one you previously had. Will pray that all the health insurance and Cobra will be seeamless and without glitches!

Russ & Robyn:
Rick and I are continuing to keep you lifted before the Lord. We understand the feelings that come with the end of a job along with the uncertainty of what's ahead. We love you and know God is walking with you through each of these events as they unfold before you. God's strength is with us in greater measure when we need it more. We know you are experiencing this first hand. Continue to lean into each other as a family for this time should only bring you closer with a heightened awareness of how special relationships with one another are.

God MOST HIGH is loving us and enjoying our relationship with HIm, moment by moment no matter what circumstances we find ourselves facing.

We often quote Gal 5:22-23 as qualities that the mature Christian should possess: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." Does it occur to us, however, that these are from God? These are qualities that our Heavenly Father demonstrates to us! He is love, joy, peace and so on. Today, think of God with these qualities. Look back over this list of the fruit of the Spirit.

Reflect on Psalm 92:1-4 "It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy." Consider the 'fruit' of this passage and ask, what do we know about God from this passage? His love is steadfast, He demonstrates faithfulness, He produces music in us, He makes us glad, We sign for joy.

Seek Him today. Ps 22:26 "The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the Lord! May your hearts live forever!"

Hi Russ and Robyn,

I'm reading through the book of Job, probably for the first time in my life. And I'm thinking a lot about you. The first thing that stood out to me was the discussion between Satan and God about Job being such a good guy because God had blessed him so richly. And then there was a prediction of what Job's response would be to undeserved affliction. God knew the length that Job's faith really could stretch to and He gave Satan permission.

My perception of our recent trial and your current trial was quite different when I pictured a similar conversation between God and Satan concerning us. It sobers me to think of my brilliant, powerful enemy devising any scheme he thinks will bring me and my testimony down. It comforts me to think that Satan can do nothing to me without God's permission. It honors me to think that God knew I could handle what He allowed to happen. And it validates my feelings to read Job's feelings . . . bewildered, confused, hopeless and even questioning God's goodness. The fact that Job's feelings of anguish are recorded for us to read tells me that it's okay to be honest with God.

Your response to what is happening in your lives has been authentic and amazing and without question highly irritating to the one who seeks to destroy you.

I am honored to have you as friends.

Love, Shari
